The Flight to Anchorage

Our adventure began today at noon CST... that's the exciting part. The not so exciting part is sitting still next to a chatty child on a 6 hour flight.... why oh why didn't I buy the tickets and use the miles to upgrade? That wouldn't have changed the fact that I have to sit relatively still for 6 hours. As of the time that I'm writing this, we're roughly half way in to it and I'm bored with the book I downloaded, and a tad bit miffed that this plane doesn't have any video options. I thought on this long of a flight I'd at least have the option of a movie! I'm really not complaining, I'm just so excited to get to Anchorage and I'm not good at waiting.

We will arrive around 6:30 Alaska time. I hope that Mike will be up for a little exploring for a fun restaurant. I want to try to adjust to the time difference right away. I've had a hard enough time with springing forward and waking up an hour too early each morning. I can onlly imagine that I'll be ready to get up about 3:30 a.m. Alaska time.

Tomorrow (Friday), we're meeting up with my friend, Bart, from my home town of Holdrege, Nebraska. He's taking us to see some sights in the area. Then on Saturday we will head for Nome.

Okay... enough. The child sitting next to me keeps taking my picture. That's just disturbing enough to get up and walk the aisles.
